What to Expect

At New City Mental Health, Paul believes in a collaborative approach between the therapist and his clients, whereby the client leads each session with whatever is on their mind. Paul helps his clients build skills and strategies to target difficulties and develop an action plan for their upcoming week.

Trust and authenticity are key elements to the therapeutic relationship, so Paul provides an open and non-judgmental environment, where he also holds clients accountable, addresses the significant impact of grief and trauma, and helps figure out patterns of behavior to shape long-lasting change.

You can expect:

  • A brief phone orientation followed by a 50-minute intake session to clarify goals and what will help you most.

  • Therapy sessions to address practical skills to use in your daily life, such as mindfulness skills, thought-restructuring, healthy sleep habits, and boundary setting with others.

  • The option to meet together with others in your support system to help them understand you, what will help you, and facilitate communication.
